JUDGING THE #DONTJUDGECHALLENGE

It has been four weeks of seeing "Pabebe girls" and #DontJudgeChallenge all over my news feed. Four weeks of this random posts, comments, anything related to these topics. I am annoyed about these but today I will be talking about my thoughts on the DontJudgeChallenge.

If you haven't watch a video yet, it is a video of people who make themselves ugly drawing thick brows, imitating acne, moles, wearing glasses, big lips and so on, after few seconds they will turn themselves into the real them with the help of make up of course. It is pretty entertaining for some but not for me.

So why is this a big deal for me? It is because people who do videos like that are actually judging other people! Do they know that there are people who have thick brows, acne all over their face, big lips, moles, large nose, and even those who wear braces or glasses are actually doing fine without feeling down for themselves? Then this videos came which in some sort of way make them feel sad.

If they really don't want to judge other people, why make a video of yourself looking ugly as possible but in reality, that is not what you really look like? That is an act of judging other people. I can't see the essence of uploading that kind of video in social media like why are you doing that? For us to know, wow you are beautiful/handsome if you don't have thick brows, acne or whatsoever.

Sometimes we don't always have to follow the trend just because everyone is doing it. Sometimes we have to know the main reason not just upload something that is in favor of you.

They don't have to change to be accepted, society should be the one who have to accept them more importantly make them feel belong. Everyone is beautiful, no one should discriminate someone just because he/she looks different. Nobody deserves to feel unwanted and be hated by other people. Everyone is amazing just the way we are.

  1. Those videos are completely annoying. I think I've seen a couple of them and I cringed at both. I agree on your statements and ugh... I just want them to stop! Filipinos are becoming more and more judgemental everyday. Doing stupid things, whether the reception is good or bad, will still get them their wanted attention so they just do it. Ugh.

  2. Sometimes we really need to think many times first before we do something.
