MENOW LONG LASTING LIPGLOSS REVIEW + SWATCHES

Most of you have probably heard or seen the famous MeNow Long Lasting Lipgloss and Crayon Lipstick. Who doesn't it is everywhere in social media from Instagram up to Facebook. They have been popular mid last year in the Philippines when BeauytMNL featured the brand but it has been popular I believe in the late 2012. I have seen the brand before but never thought I will get the chance to swatch them someday. MeNow is very popular because of their long lasting lipgloss a.k.a matte liquid lipsticks and their crayon lipsticks as they have a long range of colors and shades to choose from but there is one thing you might want to know before you continue to read, the brand is from China but hey, if girls all over the world are talking about this, it is not that bad to try.

MeNow Long Lasting Lip gloss (130 Pesos) is not really a lip gloss for girls, it is a matte liquid lipstick. It promises to provide long lasting vivid colors even when you eat and also claims to be waterproof. I got the shades 02, 04, 09,  20, 26, and 27

The packaging is very simple, a clear plastic tube with its logo printed and on its cap, it has the sticker for its shade, manufacturing date and expiration date and the net content. It contains 4.4 g.

From top to bottom: 26, 02, 20, 04, 27, 06

Shade 26

Shade 26 is nude coral which looks good on swatch but doesn't look the same on my lips. I have exfoliated and apply lip balm before I use this but still, it settles on my lips and emphasizes the lines and looks patchy.

Shade 02 is a very pretty cool toned pink that brighten up the face. This is easier to apply compared to shade 26 and doesn't look patchy. This is my favorite color among the six, it is bright but not too neon.

Shade 20 is a good mlbb shade. It is a muted pink which mimics a demure and very feminine shade. This is the easiest one to apply compared to other shades and it is not completely matte unlike the others.

Shade 04 is a bright almost neon pink, it looks like a tutti frutti pink. It may look beautiful and playful because of the shade but it is the hardest to apply on lips and it has the strongest scent. I wonder why so I check its expiration date to see if it is expired already but it has the same date with the others.

Shade 27 is a cool toned red-orange. It brighten up my face and make my looks appear whiter. I love that it is not too red and not too orange-y and leans in the middle. The shade is very wearable and looks good in any skin tone.

Shade 06 is a bright tomato red color. The shade looks very sexy, bold and hot. I love this shade, it shouts true red without being too dramatic and can be use during day or night.

But before you jump into the bandwagon, MeNOw Long Lasting Lipgloss is a true-matte liquid lipstick which make it very dry to lips and by dry, I mean extremely drying that it contributes to the present dryness of your lips. It has a light fruity scent mix with a plastic, artificial scent but it doesn't bother me that much once it was applied. Some of the shades, 04 for example is harder to apply compared to shade 20. Also I find that the finishes are not all the same, Shade 26 looks patchy and semi-matte, Shade 27  is matte while shade 06 is sheen-matte. I find these very drying to my lips and feels tacky even after it sets also, I can't press my lips because the color will transfer on top and leave me with uneven color to solve all this problem, I suggest that the best way to use this liquid lipsticks is to apply it on dry but exfoliated lips so that the color will stick. Once it is completely dry and it sets, apply another coat if needed then dab or pat but never rub a lip balm on top just to coat or seal the color and won't feel dry. I don't use any ordinary lip balm here, to make it appear matte, use a lip balm in matte finish like Chapstick or Burt's bees lip balm.

I hope this helps and let me know what shade you got ;)
